Interesting Cultural Phenomenon:
In Japan, many people claim that they could never give up alcohol because the culture is that their drinking business associates could no longer trust them, as alcohol loosens people up and you wouldn't be able to pull one over on them, or something like that.
Well, interestingly enough, I feel like a similar phenomenon exists here in the US. Drinkers don't like to hang out with non-drinkers. I don't know that the reasoning is the same or similar, and don't really understand it, but I do feel like the situation is true.

Ice Cream and Cookies
I was awaken this morning from a dream where my friends were at a store having ice cream flavors of cookie dough. I originally thought it _was_ ice cream, as it was on a stick, but no, it was cookie dough. Kinda a weird dream, but the take-away was ice cream flavored cookie dough. Now I'm gonna crave cookies...

It's been cold out, so we had to scrape our windshields, or some people did, somehow I was lucky. But my sister commented that they should have front windshield heaters, similar to that found on the rear windshield. I've often thought this. It seems possible, but more expensive than current windshields.
The current thought, however, is that since remotes are so prevalent that they should also include a button to turn on said windshield heaters, so it would be virtually eliminate the need for scraping windshields. I had a remote car starter for a while and used it for this purpose, and quite enjoyed it.
Along similar veins, I've often wondered why we don't use polarized light to reduce glare from other people's headlights. You could build a polarizer into the headlights as well as the windshields. The new thought is that you could do the same for the rear-view mirror. I think about this because my sedan/station wagon sits so low that most trucks are just lighting up my interior when they pull up behind me. I don't see that as particularly necessary, and possibly the case for another rant, but there you go.
Saving the world, one th-jot at a time.
