12-30-2010

It's been cold out, so we had to scrape our windshields, or some people did, somehow I was lucky. But my sister commented that they should have front windshield heaters, similar to that found on the rear windshield. I've often thought this. It seems possible, but more expensive than current windshields.
The current thought, however, is that since remotes are so prevalent that they should also include a button to turn on said windshield heaters, so it would be virtually eliminate the need for scraping windshields. I had a remote car starter for a while and used it for this purpose, and quite enjoyed it.
Along similar veins, I've often wondered why we don't use polarized light to reduce glare from other people's headlights. You could build a polarizer into the headlights as well as the windshields. The new thought is that you could do the same for the rear-view mirror. I think about this because my sedan/station wagon sits so low that most trucks are just lighting up my interior when they pull up behind me. I don't see that as particularly necessary, and possibly the case for another rant, but there you go.
Saving the world, one th-jot at a time.
